Glory be to Thee! How narrow are the paths for him whom You have not guided! And how obvious the truth
is for him whom You have guided his way!
| My God, so let us take the paths that lead to Thee, and set us into motion on the paths nearest to reaching Thee!
| Make near for us the far, and ease for us the arduous and the hard!
|
| And join us with Thy servants, who swiftly hurry to Thee, who knock at Thy door constantly,
|
| And worship Thee day and night, remaining apprehensive in awe of Thee!
|
|
| The ones whom You have purified their intake,
| And taken them to their objective and desire, |
| And granted them their requests, |
| And fulfilled their wishes through Thy bounty, |
| And filled their hearts with Thy love, |
| and quenched their thirst with Thy pure drink. |
|
| Through Thee have they reached the sweetness of Munajat (inner) prayer to Thee,
| and in Thee have they achieved their furthest goals.
|
|
| O He who hastens toward those who hasten toward Him
| And Who repeatedly grants His gifts and bounty through His compassion for them!
|
| Who is compassionate and clement even toward the heedless of His remembrance, and loving and tender in drawing them to His door!
|
|
I ask Thee, dear Lord, to place me
among those who have the fullest share from Thee, and the highest station with Thee,
| And the most plentiful portion of Thy love, |
| And the highest allotment of Thy
knowledge, |
| Since my aspiration has been severed from everything but Thee |
| And my desire has turned solely toward Thee. |
You are my object and none other; and for only Thee I keep awake and sleepless.
| Meeting Thee is the bliss of my eye, |
| And joining Thee is the wish of my soul. |
| And toward Thee is my yearning, |
| And in love for Thee is my passionate longing, |
| And in inclining toward Thee is my fervent craving. |
| And Thy good pleasure is the aim I seek, |
| And the vision of Thee is my need, |
| And Thy neighborhood is my request, and nearness to Thee is the utmost object of my asking.
|
Lord! In the whispered prayer to Thee I find ease and repose.
|
And with Thee lies the remedy of my illness,
|
|
And the cure for my burning thirst,
|
|
And the coolness of my ardor,
|
|
And the removal of my distress.
|
Be my intimate friend in my loneliness, the releaser of my stumble, and the forgiver
of my slip,
|
And be the accepter of my repentance,
|
|
And the responder to my supplication,
|
|
And the patron to preserve me from sin,
|
|
And the one who frees me from my needs!
|
|
Do not cut me off from Thee
|
|
And keep me not far from Thee, O my bliss and my ecstasy!
|
O You are my this world and my hereafter! O Most Merciful of the merciful!
|
