AL-QADR

Basics of Faith 1. Allah
2. The Prophets
3. The Angels

4. The Holy Books

5. The Hereafter
6. Al-Qadr

Al‑Qadr means that Allah (swt) has opened to us all opportunities and circumstances and for each of these there are several choices, or several paths we can take.  Some choices are good, others are evil.  It is up to us to choose whichever path we want.

This means that we are free in choosing anything we want to.  But we will be responsible for our actions and Judged according to our choices on the Day of Judgment.  This means we earn the consequences of what we chose to do.

Allah (swt) leaves the complete freedom of choice in our hands.  He opens the way for us and He gives us many opportunities.  It is up to us to take this opportunity and do good.

Allah (swt) has determined certain things, such as what choices are given to us in our lives.  There is a special purpose behind His creation and the situations we are presented with.

It is the combination of this freedom of choice and the determination of the creation by the Almighty that we call Al‑Qadr.

The beauty of the freedom to choose Allah has given us is that we will be responsible for our actions alone.  It is we who choose what to do and then we either get a reward for it or be punished for it.  It is not Allah who makes us be bad or good.  It is our choice to be bad or good.
