Du’aa of Obedience
دُعاء تَوْفيقَ الطّاعَةِ

1. Beseeching Allah for obedience:
 | اَللّـهُمَّ ارْزُقْنا تَوْفيقَ الطّاعَةِ،
|
 | وَبُعْدَ الْمَعْصِيَةِ،
|
 | وَصِدْقَ النِّيَّةِ، وَعِرْفانَ الْحُرْمَةِ،
|
|
O Allah!
 |
Grant us good fortune as to be obedient to Thee, and distance us from Thy
disobedience.
|
 |
Let us be sincere in our intentions; and
|
 |
Provide us with the knowledge of what is sacred. |
|
2. Beseeching Allah for guidance:
 | وَاَكْرِمْنا بِالْهُدى وَالاِْسْتِقامَةِ،
|
 | وَسَدِّدْ اَلْسِنَتَنا بِالصَّوابِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ،
|
 | وَامْـلاَْ قُلُوبَنا بِالْعِلْمِ وَالْمَعْرِفَةِ،
|
 | وَطَهِّرْ بُطُونَنا مِنَ الْحَرامِ وَالشُّبْهَةِ،
|
|
O Allah!
 |
Honor us with guidance and honesty, and
|
 |
Direct our tongues to what is right and wise; and
|
 |
Fill our hearts with
learning and knowledge, and
|
 |
Cleanse our stomachs from
what is forbidden and of doubt. |
|
3. Beseeching Allah to safeguard us:
 | وَاكْفُفْ اَيْدِيَنا عَنِ الظُّلْمِ وَالسَّرِقَةِ،
|
 | وَاغْضُضْ اَبْصارَنا عَنِ الْفُجُورِ وَالْخِيانَةِ،
|
 | وَاسْدُدْ اَسْماعَنا عَنِ اللَّغْوِ وَالْغِيبَة |
|
O Allah!
 |
Prevent our hands from committing oppression and theft,
|
 |
Lower our gaze [out of modesty] from the immoral and disloyal, and
|
 |
Block our ears from hearing
vain talk and slander. |
|
4. Beseeching Allah on behalf of the learned:
 |
وَتَفَضَّلْ عَلى عُلَمائِنا بِالزُّهْدِ وَالنَّصيحَةِ،
|
 |
وَعَلَى الْمُتَعَلِّمينَ بِالْجُهْدِ وَالرَّغْبَةِ، |
 |
وَعَلَى الْمُسْتَمِعينَ بِالاِْتِّباعِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ،
|
|
O Allah!
 |
Oblige our scholars with piety and sincere advice, and
|
 |
Those who are learning with restrain and desire to learn.
|
 |
Bless those who are with desire to follow the religious teachings, |
|
5. Beseeching Allah on behalf of the sick and old:
 |
وَعَلى مَرْضَى الْمُسْلِمينَ بِالشِّفاءِ وَالرّاحَةِ، |
 |
وَعَلى مَوْتاهُمْ بِالرَّأفَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ،
|
 |
وَعَلى مَشايِخِنا بِالْوَقارِ وَالسَّكينَةِ،
|
 |
وَعَلَى الشَّبابِ بِالاِْنابَةِ وَالتَّوْبَةِ،
|
|
O Allah!
 |
Impart recovery and comfort to the Muslims suffering from illness and bless those dead
among them with kindness and mercy.
|
 |
Award dignity and peace of mind to old people,
|
 |
Confer repentance and turning away from sin to our young people,
|
 |
Bestow modesty and chastity to our women. |
|
6. Beseeching Allah on behalf of the women and the rich:
 |
وَعَلَى النِّساءِ بِالْحَياءِ وَالْعِفَّةِ،
|
 |
وَعَلَى الاَْغْنِياءِ بِالتَّواضُعِ وَالسَّعَةِ،
|
 |
وَعَلَى الْفُقَراءِ بِالصَّبْرِ وَالْقَناعَةِ،
|
|
O Allah!
 |
Supply the rich with humility and abundance; and the poor with patience and contentment. |
|
7. Beseeching Allah for victory:
 | وَعَلَى الْغُزاةِ بِالنَّصْرِ وَالْغَلَبَةِ،
|
 | وَعَلَى الاُْسَراءِ بِالْخَلاصِ وَالرّاحَةِ،
|
|
O Allah!
 |
Let those fighting in Your way be victorious, and the imprisoned be freed. |
|
8. Beseeching Allah on behalf of the rulers and Hajjis:
 | وَعَلَى الاُْمَراءِ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالشَّفَقَةِ،
|
 | وَعَلَى الرَّعِيَّةِ بِالاِْنْصافِ وَحُسْنِ السّيرَةِ،
|
 | وَبارِكْ لِلْحُجّاجِ وَالزُّوّارِ فِي الزّادِ وَالنَّفَقَةِ،
|
 | وَاقْضِ ما اَوْجَبْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ، |
|
O Allah!
 |
Let the rulers be just and kind and the ruled receive just treatment and good
character;
|
 |
Bless those who are on pilgrimage with adequate support, and help them complete
what is obligatory on them |
|
9. Finishing the Du'aa by invoking Allah's grace:
 | بِفَضْلِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ يا اَرْحَمَ الرّاحِمينَ
|
|
 | With Your Grace and Kindness , O Most Kind! |
